The term aerosol adhesive or spray adhesive refers to one-part adhesives that can be sprayed with no additional additive required. These adhesives have been developed for industrial applications since they save money and reduce disassembly times (no requirement for additional tooling). They offer many attractive features: always ready-to-use, fast-curing, easy to use and non-soiling (do not run).
There are a large number of spray adhesives whose composition differs depending on the type of application and the type of substrates to be assembled.
Spray adhesive can either be used to produce permanent bonds or for re-useable assemblies.
Spray adhesives are grouped into two main families, based on the type of spray jet.
- Synthetic elastomers: for everyday assembly work with no significant stresses (e.g. door trim, floor mats, rugs, cloths, rubber, metal, vinyl, etc.)
- Polychloroprene or neoprene: high mechanical strength, good resistance to plasticisers, maintains properties very well at temperature and adheres extremely well to numerous substrates such as plastics (PVC, foams, etc.), rubbers, metals, wood, cork, textiles and leather.
To suit the specifics of the application, we offer a broad range of spray adhesives offering numerous options: shorter/longer open time, fast adhesion, high strength, bonding to large surfaces, bonding to porous materials, etc.
